THREE BIRDS THEATRE is a Green Room Award-nominated, independent theatre company established in 2015 by Candace Miles, Madelaine Nunn and Anna Rodway (graduates of the  Victorian College of the Arts).

Three Birds has swiftly gained recognition as exciting innovators of sharp, comedy driven theatre, with their original works receiving critical acclaim (even Julia Zemiro publicly declared Three Birds to be “three master story-tellers” after overhearing them at a coffee shop).

Three Birds Theatre is devoted to bringing female focused stories to the stage, through  harnessing musical language, witty dialogue and a striking visual world.

Three Birds Theatre’s works include: Three Birds One Cock (Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe,  Mechanics Institute, two tours with Regional Arts Victoria), LadyCake (Poppy Seed  Festival, Nati Frinj) Enter Ophelia (La Mama, National Gallery of Australia), Will This  Show Take Off? (Nati Frinj Bienniale) and Garage Girls (currently in development).

Three Birds Theatre has collaborated with and been mentored by artists including Emily Tomlins (Elbow Room), Eugyeene Teh (Little Ones Theatre),  Bert LaBonte (Book of Mormon/MTC), Phil Hayden (Howard Fine), Scott Major (Director/Actor),  Russell Goldsmith (MTC), Steve Hendy (Bell Shakespeare) and Amanda LaBonte and Sophie Lampel (Essential Theatre).

With five original works over five years, written, performed and produced by Candace, Madelaine and Anna, extensive national tour experience and a building trajectory of work and devoted  audience base, Three Birds Theatre is quickly cementing its place within the Victorian theatre landscape.
